Ask a Tour Pro: Answered Question Archiveaguinebe Asks:Jason, every now and then, my swing goes out of sync (e.g. legs faster than arms) during a golf round and my shots become very erratic. As a pro, does this happen to you during a round, perhaps even a tournament round, and how do you handle it? What exercise do you suggest I do to get back to a proper rhythm and synchronization?Jason Bohn Responds: Yes, it does happen to me!When it happens in competition, I try to hit an ‘extra’ club (for example, if I normally would hit an 8 iron, I will try to hit a soft 7), and by slowing things down, that will get my body back into rhythm. For exercises, on the driving range, I would suggest taking an 8 iron, and hitting it 100 yards, then try to increase it to 120 yards consistently, then to 140 yards consistently, and then a final shot at maximum distance. Go through this routine in stages, and continue to do it with 3 or 4 different shorter irons. At a more advanced level, you can try this same exercise with longer clubs, or even a driver.
