The Classic Swing, Position 6: Delivery

In the downswing the clubshaft is at or slightly above parallel to the ground approaching impact.
Face-On Target Line
The left shoulder's move back to the Shoulder Line is critical as it enables a descending blow at impact. The bottom of the swing is located on a line directly under the left armpit, and just ahead of the ball at impact. The right forearm is working down in front of the right thigh, a critical ingredient if the hands are to lead the clubhead into impact. This is the crucial position for the clubhead to have found the Plane Line. In fact, both the right elbow and the clubhead are "on-plane" as the club works into impact. The left hip is now turning back away from the ball which drives the left cheek back into the Tush Line. The lowering of the head is typical among good players as the right shoulder is lower than at address, while the left hip is more open. This increases the tilt in the upper body away from the target, facilitating an "on-plane" delivery of the club.
