The Basic Reference Guide Template

These Reference Guides (the yellow lines and circles drawn over the swing) form the basic template used to analyze swings in our technique pages. Reference guides may be drawn on the DSR kiosk or with SwingPractis by moving your finger or mouse in linear or circular paths on top of the swing videos. These guides are always drawn on the Address position, before the swing starts. The swing used to illustrate the Classic Swing with this template is available on the kiosk, and also available for download for SwingPractis in the Swing Library.
Face-On Target Line
In the face-on view, we have three guides:

Head Circle - A circle drawn around the head's position at set-up.

Shoulder Line - A vertical line drawn along the shoulder closest to the target at set-up.

Hip Line - A vertical line drawn along the outside of the trail hip at set-up.

The target line view has three guides as well:

Head Circle - Same as the face on view, a circle drawn around the head's position at set-up.

Plane Line - A line drawn from the bottom of the shaft up through the naval at set-up.

Tush Line - A vertical line drawn along the back of the tush at set-up.
