SwingPractis Video: Managing Swings with Naming and Categories in iDSR Home Edition

You can now manage your swings easier by changing names of swings and adding categories.

Changing the Name of a Swing

Changing the name of your swing from the default name is achieved in several ways. The easiest is to click on the Add Swing Info button available in Playback mode.

The Add Swing Information button in Playback mode

The resulting dialog box is shown below. As you can see, you can type in a new name for the swing. To exit, you click on the Save button. You will note it is in this screen that you can also change Categories, Clubs, Swing Types, Ball Flight, and Contact.

Changing the swing name in Swing Information

Another alternative for changing the name is from the swing Directory. This screen appears when ever you click the Select swing button. There is a Select button in Playback mode and there are two Select buttons (one for the left screen and one for the right screen) in Compare mode. Any of these buttons will bring up the swing Directory dialog box that will show you all the swings you have on your computer (and your Flash Drive if it is plugged in).

From the above dialog box, you can Right-Click on any swing name and select Rename from the pop-up menu. You will note that there are several other things you can do with a swing from this menu including Change Category which is discussed below.

Creating and Assigning Categories

Create and assign your swings to categories for easier tracking and sorting. You can create categories like "Good Swings", "Bad Swings", "John's Swings", "Before Lesson", and so on. To use the category feature you can click the "Add Swing Info" button in Playback mode and click the "Change" button next to the category field. You may also change the category from within the Directory dialog that pops up when ever you click on the Select swing button. In the Directory dialog box, you can change category by clicking on the "Category" button or by Right-Clicking on any of the swing names in the dialog.

Creating Categories

In fact, if you want to change the category of more than one swing at a time, you may select multiple swings. There are a few ways to select multiple objects within Windows. You may hold down the Ctrl key and Left-Click your mouse on the Name field of the swings you want to select. If you want to select several consecutive swings, you may Left-Click the Name field of the first swing in your list and then while holding down the Alt key Left-Click the last swing name. Alternatively, you may point your cursor somewhere outside the Name Field (for example in the Type field next to the Name field) and Click and Hold the left mouse button while dragging down through the Names of the swings you want to select. The names should highlight as shown below. From here you can Select the Category button to change the category for all the selected swings.
